Overview

RivianRoute is an independent, community-built guide to Rivian chargers, service centers, and Spaces. There are no accounts, and we don't sell or share personal information. This page explains the little data the site does handle.

Owner reports

Location pages let anyone post an anonymous report: a status button and an optional short comment. When you post or flag a report, we store:

Comments are checked by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude, run on Amazon Bedrock) before they appear. Only the comment, the button, and the location name are sent for that check. Reports and their hashes are deleted automatically after about 13 months; rate-limit counters expire within two days. Don't include personal information in a comment, since published comments are public.

Your browser remembers which reports you flagged (in local storage) so the flag button stays disabled. That record never leaves your device.

Spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

To block automated spam, the report form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It runs only when you post a report, and usually without showing you a challenge. Turnstile collects signals such as your IP address and browser details to tell people from bots. Its use is governed by Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum and Privacy Policy.

Analytics

We use Google Tag Manager to load site analytics, which measure page views and general usage (such as pages visited, referring sites, and approximate location) using cookies. This helps us see which pages are useful. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles that data.

Maps and live data

Map tiles load from CARTO, and live charger availability loads from Rivian's public map service. Like any website, those services receive your IP address and browser details when your browser requests them. “Find nearest” uses your device location only in your browser; it is never sent to us.

Hosting

The site runs on Amazon Web Services, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses and requested pages) for security and troubleshooting.
